From Emily Henry, the undisputed #1 New York Times bestselling queen of modern romance (Book Lovers, Beach Read), comes a sparkling, laugh-out-loud funny, and deeply emotional standalone novel. Funny Story delivers a masterclass in the Fake Dating and Roommates-to-Lovers dynamics, wrapping a heartwarming tale of starting over and found family in her signature sharp wit and radiant, small-town charm.
Daphne always loved the way her fiancé, Peter, told their love story. It was beautiful, perfect, and completely ruined the moment Peter realized he was actually in love with his lifelong childhood best friend, Petra.
Suddenly stranded in a picturesque, lakeside town in Michigan with zero friends, family, or safety nets, Daphne is forced to completely reinvent her life. To make matters worse, her tight budget forces her to take the only available room in town—sharing an apartment with the one person who understands her heartbreak entirely: Miles Nowak, Petra’s chaotic, scruffy, and deeply heartbroken ex.
