Step into a dark, atmospheric, and terrifyingly suspenseful new psychological thriller from master of suspense Riley Sager. In 1926, five women vanished without a trace from New Avalon, a remote commune for spiritual mediums on a secluded Vermont island. Their only lingering trace? Five dresses left hanging from the topmost branches of an ancient oak tree.
A century later, the chilling mystery is getting the Hollywood treatment. Struggling actress Marin Keane is thrilled to land a role in a major motion picture covering the cold case. But the gig comes with a catch: a weeklong, immersive research retreat on the very island where the tragedy occurred. Alongside an elite cast and crew, Marin is meant to study the historical diary left behind by a vanished medium named Daisy Rue.
